Beautiful music from the James Hackett (The Orchids) and Mark Tranmer (Gnac, The Montgolfier Brothers). Both are masters at creating atmospheres that feel both cinematic and intimately personal. It's like espresso and a sedative, conjuring a vivid dream, and it's a place once visited you want to explore for as long as the spell lasts. Truly special. Andy Waltzer

This is music that softly, gently, melodically improves the atmosphere. I first heard Rachel via The Dolly Mixture. That music helped me find beauty while living in a rough childhood home. I later ran away, taking my Dolly Mixture cassette with me. Many decades on, life's difficult, the world is troubled, but Rachel's music once again adds an element of beauty. Her music is something to cherish. Cheers, Rachel. Andy Waltzer

Remember how Bill Murray woke up to I Got You Babe every day in Groundhog Day? If that song would have been Made Of Moods, he at the very least experienced three and a half perfect minutes each day. It’s one of those songs that I enjoy each and every second of, with it’s jangly guitars and hushed vocals that almost have a Beach Boys vibe, especially in the verse. Truly, it’s a song for the ages. But the best news about Still Life is that it offers eleven additional underground pop gems. Niek || Add To Wantlist
